Be Wary of Free Trials of Acai Berry Products
June 22nd, 2010 by admin
Online scammers have been setting up websites to lure consumers in with “free trial offers” of various acai berry products. With demand for acai berry supplements constantly rising, so has the number of people looking to cash in on the trend. The best way to avoid being scammed when it comes to acai is to stay away from free trial offers and stick with reputable dealers, said Bryan Nettles of Bryan Nettles Pure Acai Products.
“Hundreds of thousands of people have been ripped off by companies who claim to offer free trials, tarnishing the good name of what is still a wonderful health food. As a general rule, people should stay away from any company offering free trials. We see these scammers putting up dozens of new websites everyday offering the free trial offers. Of the hundreds we have looked at, we have yet to find a single one that is a legitimate business,” said Nettles.
Although Pure Acai Products has never offered free acai trial, the company receives dozens of emails every day from people who have been scammed by tricksters. Many of these emails are mistakenly directed at Pure Acai Products because buyers have been unable to contact the companies they originally made orders with.
“These people email us thinking that we are the ones who stole their money because there’s no way to contact the con artists,” added Nettles.
One bemused customer wrote, “I was charged $89.31 for renewal on the acai berry vitamins and I never even received the sample of vitamins I had requested. I want my account refunded and I want nothing else to do with your company.”
The acai berry is touted as being the world’s newest superfood. Native of Brazil, the berries are said to contain high levels of fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants and other nutrients. The popularity of acai berry products is partly due to stars such as Rachel Ray and Oprah Winfrey featuring acai on their shows. Interest levels spike after each mention on television, but unfortunately the scammers are always aware of this.
On January 6, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) issued a warning about acai free trial offer scams. Tricksters tempt customers with offers of free trials, but problems ensue when people find out they are signed up for all sorts of products and subscriptions they don’t want.
Steve Cox, spokesman for BBB, said, “Many businesses across the country are using the same selling model for their acai products: they lure customers in with celebrity endorsements and free trial offers, and then lock them in by making it extremely difficult to cancel the automatic delivery of more acai products every month.”
There are hundreds of company names that people have filed complaints about. One of the most common is FX Supplements, which supposedly offers risk-free trials that involve buyers paying for nothing but shipping.
Customers have until the end of their trail to cancel their subscription or else find themselves lumbered with monthly charges of $85.90. What most people miss is that the trial begins from the day of the order.
Another company in the firing line is Central Coast Nutraceuticals, which again offers free acai trials of everything from acai supplements to acai tea. Buyers who don’t act quickly enough to cancel their subscriptions are then charged $40 a month.
So why don’t people just cancel their subscriptions? Likely they would – if they could ever get hold of the companies they ordered from. Customers who phone the hotlines are put on hold for anything up to 75 minutes – and even then there is no guarantee that they won’t be disconnected.
Dozens of new acai websites are unleashed on the Internet daily. Scammers move from one domain to the next, using pay-per-click advertisements to generate traffic. In November 2008 Google recorded more than 1.5 million searches for acai products. Sales of acai products were more than $15 million last year.
Nettles continued, “Sales of acai berry products are still growing. People haven’t been dissuaded from the actual products, but now they understand they have to be a bit more careful where they order from.”
Any offer of a free trial of acai products is likely to be a scam and hundreds of thousands of people have already fallen victim. Acai products come in various forms – juices, powders, capsules, jams and so on – and their popularity is showing no signs of slowing, despite the presence of fraudsters.
If you want to order acai products, find a reputable source that doesn’t push any too-good-to-be-true offers on shoppers.

Get Free Website Traffic With Squidoo
June 5th, 2010 by admin
One of the hottest sites to come out of the Web 2.0 phenomenon is Squidoo. If you are not building sites to Squidoo, you are missing one of the quickest and easiest ways to build free traffic for your website or blog.
Squidoo is a cross between a blog, a mini site, and a My Space page. Squidoo calls the sites “lenses” and the people who produce the sites are called “lensmasters.”
Squidoo lenses are very easy to make, even if you have not ever built a website or blog before. You can have a lens up and running in as little as 15 minutes.
Squidoo lenses are made up of “modules”. Squidoo has dozens of modules to choose from. There are modules for making lists. There are modules for You Tube videos. There are modules for Amazon and Ebay auctions. With a little knowledge of the module system, you can have your lens built in no time.
Squidoo also offers you a chance to make money from your lens. Squidoo makes its money from affiliate advertising with Google AdSense, Amazon, Ebay and several other sites. They keep track of the earnings of each module and split the profits with you 50-50. You can also donate your profits of your module to charity if you wish.
Squidoo is very lenient about allowing you to use third party advertising on your lens. You can promote your own website if you wish or promote your favorite affiliate product. Savvy network marketers often use Squidoo lenses to promote their products and recruit new reps.
Squidoo lenses often rank very high on Google, so it’s a great chance to build some backlinks to your primary company website.
One of the best ways to use Squidoo to build traffic to your primary blog is by using the RSS feed module. You simply load the RSS feed from your blog and the Squidoo lens will update automatically as you update your blog.
The Amazon module is also very easy to use for people that are new at Squidoo. For the case of Amazon products, you simply enter the ISBN number of the Amazon product and Squidoo will pull it directly off the Amazon website, complete with the photo and the price. You can also have the module pull directly from keywords if you don’t want to take the time to find ISBN numbers on Amazon.
Another great Squidoo module is the Ebay module. With the Ebay module, you can select products by keyword or by seller. If you sell a lot of products yourself on Ebay, this is a great way to get free traffic to your auctions.
As you can tell, Squidoo is a great free and easy way to build traffic and make money online. So get Squidooing!

Free Baby Diapers: How to Take Advantage of Them
June 3rd, 2010 by admin
Babies often suffer from rashes on their bottom because of low quality diapers. The skin of babies is really sensitive so even the slightest flaw on the material of the diaper he or she is wearing could lead to serious skin irritation. To avoid this, you could go for the trusted diaper brands such as Huggies and Pampers. These diaper companies are so huge that they are now capable of manufacturing diapers that are guaranteed safe for your baby’s skin. However, the prices of the products from these companies might not be as desirable as the quality of the products. This is why a lot of people resort to buying cheaper brands rather than spending on the trusted ones.
This resulted to various promotional offers from the said diaper companies. Huggies, for one, has now partnered with Wal-Mart for their new product. The samples of this new product could be found in different Wal-Mart stores in your area. They either give out free diaper coupons themselves or allow the users to see the products up close before asking for free baby diapers. Through this method, they are able to promote their product by giving out free baby diaper samples. This method is effective, indeed, because the product does not only become popular by name, the users would actually learn of its usefulness and eventually patronize it for long-term.
The free coupons will eventually run out and the promos where they give out free diaper samples would reach its deadline so it would be great if you have a year supply of free baby diapers. And just when you think that this is not possible, it actually is. Different diaper companies start monthly raffle draws to determine which customer gets the privilege of receiving a year supply of baby diapers. Of course, it would be hard for you to win but you will lose nothing even if your name does not get drawn so you might as well take this chance.
You could also buy diaper coupons from Ebay if the package that you ordered did not last long enough. Though you would be required to pay for these coupons, at least you will have the choice to pick the diaper brand you think your baby is comfortable wearing. The discounts you would get from these coupons would still be enough for you to cut down on diaper costs so do not worry about spending much for the coupons. The only thing you should be mindful of is getting coupons that are still valid. Some online sellers actually have the guts to sell coupons that have already expired so make sure to check the expiration date before paying for the coupons.
There are a lot of ways for you to get your baby diaper for free so never ever sacrifice your baby’s safety by getting low quality diapers. If you are an expecting mother, you could also get free newborn diapers from the websites of diaper companies. Just order four to six weeks before your actual birthing period to ensure that the diapers arrive on time.

Toll Free Phone Service Serve Companies Well
May 26th, 2010 by admin
As the economy continues to worry both consumers and businesses alike, there has never been a better time to establish a toll free phone number for your company. Having a toll free phone number for your business can often make or break the decision of the customer to contact you first. Having to dial a phone number that adds charges to a consumer’s phone bill may be a turn-off for callers. Customers may make decisions about who to contact for new products or services based solely on the phone number they see advertised online or in print.
Promote Your Services
Toll free numbers are a great marketing tool that can be used in all kinds of advertising avenues. Companies will often use their toll free phone numbers as part of their company jingle, to help increase the chance that customers will remember to call them first. For instance, one commercial that immediately comes to mind is for the car insurance company, Safe Auto. Their commercial encourages people to call1-800-SAFE-AUTO with a catchy little song. As people later are in need of a car insurance quote, the jingle will likely spring to mind, leading customers to call that toll free number they remember first.
Expand Your Communications
Toll free phone numbers are a perfect compliment to a virtual PBX phone system for a growing business as the PBX phone system offers many invaluable features and technologies at a comparably low cost. The PBX phone system makes handling incoming calls a breeze, as much of the technology allows for total automation and growth potential for any size business. For instance, using a specifically created toll free number for a new marketing plan and incorporating the features of a PBX phone system, you can handle a bulk of incoming calls, forward them directly to the sales staff of your company, and have the advantage of being able to monitor and track all incoming calls from that one specific toll free phone number. Working hand in hand, the virtual PBX phone and your company’s toll-free number can help you generate and handle all your new business.
Deliver Customer/Client Satisfaction
Customers want convenience but they also want reliable service. Since you never miss a phone call using the virtual PBX phone system, you will be able to build confidence from the first call. Your customers will appreciate the ease with which they can get information from you via telephone. Whether you are answering the call directly or forwarding callers to informational extensions, all calls are handled in a timely manner and the phone system provides top-notch customer service even after hours.
Utilizing a toll free number is important to a business and its customers and it doesn’t have to be difficult to get one or more toll-free numbers for your company’s use. In conjunction with a virtual PBX phone system, you will be providing your clients and customers with consistent, high-quality customer service, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for a minimal cost and no additional equipment.

So you Want That Free Ipod
May 22nd, 2010 by admin
We’ve all seen them while browsing the internet. “Get a free giftcard!” “An ipod is waiting for you!” “Big Screen TV!” “Free game system!” Pretty much anything you want, you can get for free through these sites. But are they real?
Yes! They are, for the most part, legit! No really! How do you know for sure? Find one that’s been around for more than a month or two. If they’ve been scamming people, they wouldn’t still be in business. Research the site. See if they are registered with the BBB. Ask around. See if you can find someone who has done this before.
*How can they give away all this cool stuff?*
Freebie sites are, basically, big advertisements for the affiliates of the sites. When you complete an offer through the freebie site, they get paid, and they, in turn, pass some of that money on to you.
*Different kinds of sites*
There are three different types of Freebie sites, Do It Yourself (DYI), Referrals, and Combination.
Do It Yourself Sites require you to do offers in order to earn points, or credits until you have enough to ‘buy’ the item you are looking at. The advantage? You are in control of your own gift. The disadvantage? You have to do a whole bunch of offers.
Referral sites require you to do a few offers, and then refer other people to do the same thing. Once you get the required amount of people you get your free gift. Advantage? You only have to complete a couple of offers. Disadvantage? You have to find people to do your referrals.
Combination? Well, you can do offers yourself or other people to do them, too. Advantage? You can have control over your prize, and you can have a few friends do you a favor. Disadvantage? … um … There aren’t many combination sites out there, but if you look hard enough, you can find them.
*All about offers*
Well, as much as possible. There are hundreds of different offers. From free trials to joining programs to buying products. Most of them happen to be trials. Not always free, but not a permanent part of your life, and you can get some fun things in the process. For instance, I finally found the perfect lipstick color for me, and it was free. (Hey. I’m a girl. It was exciting.)
You should always research offers before you do them. Try the contact numbers to make sure you can get through to customer service if you need to. Read the Terms of Service. For the most part, the offers are fine. If a freebie site gets many complaints about a certain offer, they will remove it from the list. So affiliates have some incentive to behave themselves when it comes to customer service. I’ve not heard of a person who followed these basics that has gotten anything more than a slight increase in spam.
Also, you should at least be slightly interested in the services you are trying. The reason these sites work is that the affiliates get enough people to try their services and like them that paying the exorbitant amounts to these sites is worth it. So put the trials to the test. You never know. You may actually like them.
And… a note about canceling… If you cancel all of your offers right off the bat, it can be considered fraud. This will effectively get you banned from every site on the network, and every site that the offer is featured on. It’s not worth it.
Another way you can fraud is by doing offers more than once. This defeats the purpose of sites as well. Some sites have offers from the same company. Don’t do it! If you are unsure, send the site owner an email or open a support ticket. They are happy to help, and it’s better not to risk being disqualified.
*Making sure that offers credit*
Change your internet settings to accept all cookies and allow popups. Turn off your spyware and virus software and disable your firewall. (Don’t worry, you can turn it all back on in a minute.) Do your offers. Leave the confirmation pages up for at least a couple of minutes. Clear your cookies when you are done and before you start another freebie site. Turn everything back on.
If you have offers that don’t credit, it’s not the end of the world. Most offers will send you a confirmation email. All you have to do is open a missing credit request with your freebie site. Usually they will have a form for this. They will want a copy of the confirmation email with full headers (Check your email provider’s faq to find out how to do this.) Having to manually request credits isn’t fun, and can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, but it’s worth it.
It will take a little bit of perseverance, but you can get free … whatever you want! Electronics, appliances, dietary supplements, and even cash! If you want it, you can find a freebie site that will get it for you.

How Can I Become Debt Free, 3 Strategies That Work
May 16th, 2010 by admin
More and more people are asking themselves, “how do I become debt free?” or even, “can I become debt free?” And the answer is, you can be debt free, and there are a couple ways to do it. Here are three to consider.
The first thing you have to do in your quest to have zero debt is to take an honest look at where you are right now. How much and what kind of debt do you currently have? I’m going to assume that like most people, you want to get rid of your credit card debt. This is the debt that is considered unsecured, meaning it isn’t tied to your house for instance. Unsecured debt will be the focus of this article.
The first “how can I become debt free” strategy is the debt roll-up. With debt roll-up, you evaluate your credit card bills, take the one with the lowest balance first – do not worry about the interest rate at this point – and add to the minimum payment what is called an accelerator. This accelerator is an extra chunk of money that you can afford to apply to this strategy until the cards are all paid off. Take the accelerator, add it to the minimum you are already paying, and apply the total to the first card until the card is paid off. Then take the total you were paying on that card (minimum plus accelerator) and add it to the next lowest balance cards minimum payment. Repeat this with all your cards until they are all paid off. Then take the total you end up with and start applying to your mortgage. If you follow this strategy to the letter, you will pay off everything in about ten years.
The second “how do I become debt free” strategy is debt consolidation. This one is simple, but has a dangerous pitfall. The idea is to take any equity you have in your home and apply for a home equity loan or refinance. You may be able to wipe your credit card debt free with this method, however DO NOT start using the credit cards again! If you do, you will find yourself back in credit card debt again, but now with the additional home equity loan to pay as well.
The third “can I become debt free” strategy is debt settlement. If you find you can no longer pay the minimums on your cards, but were able to save the money you would have applied to the balances, debt settlement may be a good option for you. That’s basically how it works. Simply stop paying on your credit cards. Be ready for a barrage of telephone calls, and be ready for your credit rating to take a hit – although it can be repaired – and be ready for settlement offers from the credit companies. You can usually settle for paying half of what you owe, sometimes down to 20%. And if you keep in communication the right way with the companies, chances are low that you will face legal action.
If you find yourself in deep credit card debt, remember there are ways to get out. So, if you ask yourself “can I become debt free?” the answer is absolutely!

Free Money Or Credit Card Debt?
May 13th, 2010 by admin
Every time an individual goes to the grocery store, the items in the cart may be less, yet the total bill is still higher. Likewise, based upon the prices at the pump, consumers may often wonder if the tank is being filled with liquid gold.
In general, the cost of living seems to be rising faster than the typical household budget can accommodate. No problem! If cash is short, simply whip out the little plastic rectangle from the wallet, and basic needs, and many wants, will not have to be sacrificed to a shortage in finances. Actually, used in excess, credit card debt can fast become a really big problem, and insurmountable financial woes are lurking around the corner.
Used in moderation, credit cards are an excellent tool for making necessary purchases. For example, possessing large amounts of cash seems like tempting would-be pickpockets and muggers to “pick me!” Rather than opening a wallet to reveal the entire vacation budget, travelers often opt to use a credit card for financing the journey. Actually, the practice is a smart idea, under one vital condition: avoid credit card debt; pay the subsequent bill in its entirety.
For the rare individual, a credit card is an excellent means of controlling the budget and earning cash back, or significant travel rewards. Used carefully, a credit card can be implemented for paying all the regular bills, groceries, and gas. Then, at the end of the month, when the bill arrives, the amount is paid in full with a single check or an electronic funds transfer.
Unfortunately, a growing number of credit users are experiencing the financial woes of credit card debt, because the bill cannot be paid in full during the billing cycle. Month after month, the unpaid balance continues to grow, and in no time at all, the card is maxed out. In addition, once someone has one active credit card account, the mailbox is soon inundated with offers for introductory rates on additional cards. Soon, one card-for emergencies only-soon becomes 2, 3, 4, or more cards.
At first, the credit seems like “free” money. With only a signature, a consumer can purchase the perfect outfit, electronic device, or any number of wants. Yeah! Tired of always having to feel deprived, or shopping for sales, the card seems like a dream come true, until the bill arrives, and the person wakes to a real-life nightmare. Now, the budget is even tighter, to included the new credit card bill/bills. Spending is out of control, and the consequences of credit card debt can be devastating.
The consequences are bills, bills, and more bills, compounded by the excessive interest on the unpaid balance. Generally, credit cards charge 18-23 percent interest. While the numbers may seem insignificant at the time, the additional monies owed for the privilege of paying the balance back over a long period can add up quickly. For example, an individual finds a nice television set on sale for $500. Instead of saving and purchasing a set when he/she can afford it, the credit card comes in handy.
Now, assume the credit card company charges 18% yearly interest, and the minimum monthly payment is 10%. An individual will take 2.5 years to pay off the single purchase, which will end up costing a whopping $575. Actually, most credit card providers only require a 2% minimum payment. Refigured, the single purchase will take almost 4 years to pay off, and the interest amount is an unbelievable $198! Free money? Nothing can be farther from the truth.
Credit card companies are not benevolent individuals graciously helping people out of the budget crunch. Like any business, the object is to make money. Instead of kind benefactors, some credit card companies are better described as relatives of loan sharks.
However, instead of breaking a person’s legs if he/she is unable to pay the bill, credit card debt can destroy good credit. Now, the individual will have future trouble purchasing a car, buying a house, qualifying for student loans, etc. For some, bankruptcy is the only way out of credit card debt, and he/she can lose everything.
However, before diving into total depression over credit card debt, observe the light at the end of the tunnel. Free services are available to help people negotiate with lenders to reduce the amount of interest. Also, the debt counselors can consolidate all debts, reducing the interest rates, and bringing the payments down to a manageable amount, with a catch. The debtor is no longer allowed to purchase anything on credit, until the balance is paid. Otherwise, credit card debt will only get worse, with no recourse.
The best advice: do not depend on credit to fill shortcomings in the budget. Instead, refigure the budget, learn to conserve, do without, and save for major purchases. In the event a credit card must be used in true emergencies-like unexpected auto repairs or emergency room visits-pay the bill off as soon as possible, and always pay more than the minimum amount. Also, if the temptation to spend in advance is too strong, cut up the credit cards and throw them in the trash.
In summary, credit card debt is a growing problem. While the convenience seems like free money at the time, the consequences can be financially devastating. Although a credit card is great for emergencies or vacations, pay the balance in full or as soon as possible. Always pay more than the minimum payment requested, and stick to an affordable budget.

Are Free Online Dating Sites Worth Your Time?
May 11th, 2010 by admin
It used to be that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Then along came the internet and free became almost an automatic expectation.
The expectation of free stuff has but pervaded the internet, online dating included. Add to this that some people-including some of whom should know better- cannot quite distinguish between a true internet dating site and a chat room. Whatever happened to “you get what you pay for”?
So, do free dating sites exist? If so, are they worth your time?
The answer to the first question is yes. But wait, not so fast. There is a price to pay. To answer the second question, I will ask you this; how much is your time worth? Or should I ask, how much is time spent on finding your soul-mate worth?
You see, while it may seem enticing to use a free dating site, you could end up investing so much time that it will cancel out at best. Most likely it will not be worth it. You will find yourself spending lots of time on poor quality websites that don’t work efficiently. Read frustration and agitation. And this is just for starters.
Next is safety. Background checks and/or verification are most likely inexistent on free sites as they just will not spend much time or (duh?) money on this. What this means is that you will most likely be contacting a person who is not whom they claim to be. Read potential disaster.
In contrast, a paid dating site usually requires the use of a credit card, or other verifiable form of payment. This leaves a trail that can back to the subscriber. A person who can be traced is less likely to engage in crooked activity.
Another important thing is quality. If the site is not making money from subscriptions, it must be getting its revenue from somewhere. The most likely source is advertising. Prepare to be bombarded with ads, pop-ups and offers. Most Spy ware and Trojan infections sneak into a computer through “free” services and downloads.
Caliber of potential prospects also matters. What kind of person will not commit a few dollars to finding the perfect mate? You can be sure that many lowlifes, losers and practical jokers will find a haven in free sites. Is a wonder that most online dating nightmare stories seem to originate from free chat rooms?
In contrast, a person who is willing to pay a subscription fee is already demonstrating commitment, and can be taken seriously.
Finally, free sites will be likely to cut corners in order to keep operating costs as low as possible. This means that features will be limited. You will also get very little useful information about your prospects. Site improvements will be few and far between if any at all.
The bottom-line still is: you get what you pay for. If you want quality you must be willing to make the commitment. If in doubt get a free trial membership with a reputable dating site, then decide if it is what you want. If so, go with it. If not, move on.
